Police and Jail Defense
Defending local governments and their officials in federal civil rights (Section 1983) litigation is the heart of our practice.
Our attorneys are well known for their experience in representing local governments, their officials and employees accused of federal civil rights violations. Whether it is a police misconduct case (i.e., excessive use of force, false arrest, malicious prosecution, etc.) or a case filed against jail correctional officers and administrators (i.e., use of force, denial of medical care, strip searches, etc.), our lawyers have achieved a reputation in the legal community for excellence and positive results.
We bring expertise and experience to your employment litigation.
Our attorneys are experienced in conducting internal investigations of complaints made by employees about discrimination, harassment or retaliation. We are also routinely called upon to file responses and position statements to complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR). The range of our experience includes discrimination complaints based on sex, age, disability, race, and national origin. When those complaints are filed in court, we are prepared to litigate on behalf of our clients in federal and state courts, as well as the Illinois Human Rights Commission.
