Municipal & Park District Law

Municipal and park district law has been the foundation of our practice for almost 30 years.

We serve as General Counsel to several municipal and park district entities. In these capacities, our attorneys provide a myriad of legal services. Our goal is to provide quality legal advice and work product that will help promote the lawful, effective, and efficient operation of our local governmental entities.

On a daily basis, our attorneys are “in the trenches” of municipal and park district law.

We regularly draft ordinances and resolutions, address Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act issues, and attend board meetings. We are skilled in negotiating and drafting intergovernmental agreements, vendor contracts, and public works bid documents. We are well-versed in land use law and routinely provide counsel to municipal planning departments, boards, and commissions. We also handle local liquor license revocation hearings, business license matters, and other procedural due process hearings.

We strive to keep abreast of changing laws and proactively update our local governmental clients so that their operations remain current and lawful. Our attorneys have served in leadership roles in various organizations, such as the Illinois Bar Association Local Government Law Section Council and the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association.
