On the Bend Don’t Break Podcast. The Cost of Confidentiality [the first half of the interview sets up the second part. The guest officers’ responded to a suicidal subject. The event was quick, but the post-event investigative process that follows took about a year and a half, during which they were not allowed to talk to anyone about the encounter. The investigative process, into whether the responding officers acted appropriately, it turns out, is where the officers’ greatest source of stress came from. That inability to talk to anyone about the incident, plus the trials of the Pandemic, made the process particularly trying.
